However, everyone has worked really hard uniting together to field teams and keep the competition running and for that I am very grateful. It is very exciting that we have made it to the end of Term 1 and with no lockdowns!
We have many experiences to be proud of in 2021and 2022 with limited netball matches played in 2021. We managed to start 2022 year in Term 1 playing netball across all age groups, and looks like we will finish Spring Season with many teams making finals.
We are half way in running our 10-week net set go program for new members which keeps growing each week. Thank you to Trish for organising our finances, with seasons stopping, starting restarting, new netball connect system in 2022 and always being their empowering our junior coaches and umpires.
We hosted the opening of our lights at R F Julier Reserve in term 2, 2021 (before another lockdown) with a fun night of junior and senior players playing mini competitions against each other and hosting PM colts. Thank you Anna for the vision of the lights it has made a big difference to training over winter and creating a team culture, the night was full of lots of music, sausages, coaching and FUN for all members and local council attendees. Thank you to Midge and all the committee for the organizing of this event.
We raised money for our club at our mid year pie drive and Christmas shortbread and gingerbread man drive. BIG thank you to Fergusons Plarre Bakehouse PM for their generosity and donations of delicious food once again. The continuous support of sponsors such as this, enables our club to operate, thank you Midge for organizing and making this possible.
We have had many players try out and be successful with representatives in Rep teams across the state, and many players complete coaching, umpiring courses over the 2021/2022 season. This is a testimony to Anna and our dedicated coaches and senior umpires to support our junior members on their own unique netball journeys.
New child safety rules are being updated and implemented by July 2022, thank you to Rachel who has been working hard on ensuring we meet the highest standards and reviewing all our policies.
A MASSIVE thank you to all our players, coaches and team managers, umpires, committee and families for the love of netball and never giving up.
Finally, a HUGE thank you to all our outgoing committee members. Our secretary, Vicki Martyn who over the past 8 years has made sure all minutes are taken, schedules are organized and meeting arranged. Kate Gellweiler, our Marketing and Communications officer, who over the past 8 years as a foundation club and committee member has played a huge part building and developing the club it is today. Kate also contributed to the coaching group from 2016-2017. PMNC will forever be grateful.
PMNC since 2014 has been built on volunteer’s energy and the last 2 years has shown the strength of that commitment through all the stop and starts of seasons with lockdowns. Thank you to all the committee for their dedication. The future is looking bright for PMNC.
