In recent weeks, our Executive Committee has been working to secure better facilities for the Port Melbourne Netball Club. We will continue to lobby our State and Local Government representatives, but we also need your help!
The City of Port Phillip is currently seeking feedback on the development of the sports pavilion at Murphy's Reserve. While the community survey is not specific to netball or netball courts, it provides the opportunity for us to alert the Council to our needs and their responsibilities.
We are grateful to the City of Port Phillip for the use of RF Julier Reserve. However, the Club has already outgrown these basic facilities and requires safe, match standard courts in order to retain and develop our players.
The PMNC believes that these facilities (all weather, muli-purpose courts) could be provided at Murphy's Reserve, in the area of open space near the corner of Williamstown Road and Graham Street.
Please take 5 minutes to click on the link below and complete the survey. You may like to include the following comments:
Murphy's Reserve currently has no sporting facilities for girls or women, and I would like to see this gender imbalance addressed.
I do not support the above ground wetlands component of the current Murphy's Reserve Master Plan and believe that it should be replaced with six multi-purpose netball/basketball courts for the rapidly expanding local netball and basketball communities.
